REVIEW: Gravel Ghost by Charyse Allan

Gravel Ghost, a brilliant new YA Thriller by Charyse Allan went live YESTERDAY December 16th, 2014. This book was crazy awesome and completely BADASS! It took me be surprize but holy crud! 

It read like an action movie, on that I REALLY want to see. 

The whole cast of characters were awesome. Here is my dream cast :)

Payton was badass but also had this scared sweet side that just wanted to be loved.

Connor was so sweet and strong, everything Payton needs. Rylie of course was funny and loyal and just wonderful.

Here's my dream cast for the fearless leader/father Cadmar who I adored and his evil mate Scarlet who I did NOT adore.

Needless to say if this is the calibre Charyse Allan puts out for her FIRST book, I am excited to see where she can take these characters and where her writing will continue because this was a fantastick ride.

Note to Hollywood.... MAKE THIS MOVIE (or a CW tv show would be awesome too)

“That last night in Old Town,” his voice rumbles against me and I go back to that night which changed everything for us. “When you said that was your first kiss…” He trails off and I’m mortified to feel blood rushing up my neck and over my cheeks. Did he really piece that together through everything I told him? I chew on my bottom lip, waiting for him to say something else, because I’m not going to say anything. “You didn’t just mean your first kiss with me?”

        I try to move out from between his legs, but he grips my arms tighter. The only response I can give is shaking my head. I’m horrified and I can’t believe he actually remembers me saying that. I feel like I willingly had the word ‘virgin’ tattooed on my forehead. In the whole spectrum of everything, this shouldn’t be a big deal, but I am still a girl and I do still have hormones and such.

        “Payton.” He sounds frustrated. He pulls me around in his arms so we’re facing each other again. His green eyes are wide with surprise and something else I can’t read. It’s probably him wondering why he’s spent so much time with a crazy, loner girl. “That was your first kiss…ever?”

        I gnaw on my lip, look down at my nails and nod slightly. Again, all of the blood in my freaking body rushes to my cheeks. I don’t know how I can be so unsure here. I kill people for a living, but talking about kissing makes me want to hide in a hole. I’m sure he’s as mortified as I am. With the way he kisses, I’m certain I wasn’t his first and he’s probably done a lot more than that, if not everything. I mean, he is nineteen and a guy. My stomach lurches, sending bile up my throat. I really don’t want to think about him being with other girls. So, obviously, that’s all I can think about now. Dear God, brain, shut up!

And here is Charyse's Dream Cast for Gravel Ghost 

For most of these, I based it strictly off of the way the actors or actresses look, so they are closest to what the characters of the book look like as I imagine them.

For Payton, the MC, I would love for Crystal Reed to play her, because she not only looks kind of like what I imagine, but she has also already played a badass chick on Teen Wolf.

For Conner, the sexy best friend, I would say Daniel Sharman is perfect. He looks almost exactly what I imagine Conner to look like, he was also in Teen Wolf and even played as Crystal Reed’s boyfriend for a little and he’s dreamy!

For Cadmar, Paytons all-too-serious dad, I have to go with Luke Evans. First of all, because yum, but also because I can totally see him playing Cadmar!

Am I right???

For Scarlet, Payton’s hateful mom, I’m going to go with Eva Green. She’s not even blond, as Scarlet is in the book, but Eva Green is awesome at playing the bitchy woman.

Finally, for Reiley, the youngest of Payton’s four sisters, I’m going with Emma Roberts. She isn’t a redhead like our sweet Reiley, but she has that sweet, innocent look, while being able to portray a badass chick and she could probably pull off red hair :)
