Sometimes unexpected miracles can shift your life off course.

A year ago, Amelia, Annie, and Charlotte found second loves in unexpected places. Now, everyone’s life seems to have fallen into place… until a late night knock on Charlotte’s door shakes up everything.

Love rarely goes as planned…

Unexpected news leaves Amelia confused and worried. She loves Owen but is not sure what her future holds, especially with them living the tour life. As the months pass by and Amelia begins to question everything, she wonders if her relationship with Owen can truly last forever.

Sometimes a first love creeps back in…

While helping Amelia sort out her life, Annie finds new problems of her own. A visitor from her past threatens to overturn her relationship with Joe. Annie must make some difficult choices.

As the three women face new complexities in the sequel to Then Comes Love, they learn the fairy tale can fade, leaving you to question everything you thought you knew. However, family and friendship can sometimes be the link you need to find what you want.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Leonard. Of course I’m getting the door. What? You think a robber’s going to waste his time at the old people’s home?”

“Of course not, Charlotte. Get back in bed. Who would possibly be at the door at this hour other than a robber?” Leonard hissed at her, trying to yank her arm. He didn’t have his glasses on, so he didn’t even make contact with her.

Charlotte shook her head at the silly man.

“I’ll take my chances,” she whispered as he groaned and got out of bed.

“If we end up tied up it’s because of you,” he grumbled, rubbing sleep from his eyes. The pounding continued as Charlotte grabbed her glasses from the nightstand on her way from the room.

“Coming,” she yelled.

“Great, now the robber knows we’re here.” Leonard sighed, following closely behind.

“You’ve been watching too much Dateline.” As she crossed the kitchen and put her hand on the doorknob, she begrudgingly paused. She couldn’t admit Leonard was right. Peering at the clock on the stove, she realized it was 11:06 p.m. Probably not the smartest time to open your door. But she was committed now and couldn’t admit she had the creeps, not with Leonard right there ready to say told you so. So Charlotte flung the door to the right, and waited to face her attacker.

The sight in front of her eyes in the darkened hallway was both glorious and terrifying.

Amelia stood in sweatpants and a hoodie, tears streaming down her face. Her hair was a frizzy mess and her eyes were bloodshot.

“Grandma, I’m so sorry. My flight just got in and I was going to wait to see you until tomorrow but I just needed to talk. Oh my gosh, you were sleeping. I’m an idiot.”

Charlotte was horrified by the potential reason behind Amelia’s sudden visit. She was supposed to be in Amsterdam right now. She wasn’t due home until Thanksgiving.

An high school English teacher, an author, and a fan of anything pink and/or glittery, Lindsay's the English teacher cliché; she love cats, reading, Shakespeare, and Poe.

She currently lives in her hometown with her husband, Chad (her junior high sweetheart); their cats, Arya, Amelia, Alice, and Bob; and their Mastiff, Henry.

Lindsay's goal with her writing is to show the power of love and the beauty of life while also instilling a true sense of realism in her work. Some reviewers have noted that her books are not the “typical romance.” With her novels coming from a place of honesty, Lindsay examines the difficult questions, looks at the tough emotions, and paints the pictures that are sometimes difficult to look at. She wants her fiction to resonate with readers as realistic, poetic, and powerful. Lindsay wants women readers to be able to say, “I see myself in that novel.” She wants to speak to the modern woman’s experience while also bringing a twist of something new and exciting. Her aim is for readers to say, “That could happen,” or “I feel like the characters are real.” That’s how she knows she's done her job.

Lindsay's hope is that by becoming a published author, she can inspire some of her students and other aspiring writers to pursue their own passions. She wants them to see that any dream can be attained and publishing a novel isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

"Damn," he mumbled, hands smoothing her hair as he kissed her forehead. He grinned mischievously as he pulled back to look down into her face. "You know, they do make an Emergency Stop button for a reason."
"Oh, yeah? Why's that?"
"For this." He cornered her by the elevator buttons. He pushed the Stop button as he took her lips in his mouth, flooding her with passion again.
She pulled back for a second, just long enough to ask, "What if an alarm goes off?"
He looked into her eyes, his hand rustling his hair. "It'll just be all the more exciting," he whispered, leaning back into her with vengeance.
She knew he was right.

"I better get going. I have an early shift tomorrow at the bookstore," she said. He nodded, telling Charlotte good-bye and giving Butternut a scratch. Annie stayed behind to round up the cat and to catch up with Grandma Charlotte.
Heading to the elevator hand in hand, Owen looked down at her, smiling.
"What?"
He shook his head. "Nothing. It's just, God, life is exciting with you." He winked.
"You call stealing an already stolen cat and fighting with a psycho exciting? You need a life," she teased.
He laughed. "You might be right. But seriously, what other girl could offer me such mad, crazy entertainment?" He purposefully bumped into her shoulder with his.
They walked into the elevator, and he squeezed her hand, prompting her to look up at him.
"What now?" She grinned, feeling fluttery in her chest. Even in a hospital elevator, he made her smile.
